At Pano, we take your privacy seriously. Pano is a notes application — what you save belongs to you, and how we handle your data should be plain to read.
This Privacy Policy describes how Abdullah Khalid ("we," "us," or "Pano") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Pano service at trypano.app. We comply with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable privacy laws.
We collect three categories of information:
Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. When you sign in via magic link, we receive your email address only — no name or photo. We use this to create and identify your account. Google profile photos are fetched directly from Google's servers each session and are not stored independently by Pano.
Notes you save. Every note you write in Pano is stored on our servers so you can retrieve it later. Within the app, access controls ensure that only you, signed into your account, can read your notes. Your notes are stored as text and are not end-to-end encrypted, which means our infrastructure providers and authorized Pano operators can technically access stored content where necessary to run, debug, and secure the service. We do not read your notes except as needed to operate Pano or where required by law.
Technical data. When you use Pano, our servers automatically log standard information including your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you access, and timestamps. This is used to operate the service, debug issues, and detect abuse.
We do not intentionally request sensitive regulated data such as government IDs, financial account numbers, or medical records. However, notes are personal and may contain any content you choose to write, including health-related information. We do not collect phone numbers, mailing addresses, biometric data, or precise geolocation (GPS) outside of what may incidentally appear in your notes.
Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, we do not store your card or bank details — those are entered on our payment processor Stripe's hosted checkout and handled directly by Stripe. We store only billing identifiers (such as your Stripe customer and subscription IDs) and your subscription status, so we can manage your access.
Pano is an AI-powered notes app, and AI processing of your note content is core to how it works. To provide the service, your notes are stored on our servers and processed by OpenAI, our AI sub-processor, for the following features:
In short, your note content — and, for voice features, your audio — is sent to OpenAI to power the features above, not only when you ask questions. OpenAI processes this content on our behalf under its API terms. OpenAI's API data-usage policy governs how that content is handled: as of June 17, 2026, OpenAI states that content submitted through its API is not used to train its models, and that API request logs may be retained for up to approximately 30 days for abuse monitoring. Refer to OpenAI's published API data-usage policies for the current terms. For our part, we do not use your notes to train any AI model, and we do not sell them or share them with advertisers.
Audio recordings and read-aloud audio are not stored by Pano. Your note text and voice transcripts are stored so the service can function. Voice and read-aloud are optional and only activate when you explicitly tap the microphone or speaker button.
If you do not want your note content processed by AI, Pano is not the right product for you — AI processing is core to how the service works.
We rely on a small number of trusted infrastructure providers ("sub-processors") to operate Pano. Each processes data on our behalf under their published terms of service:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertisers or marketing networks. We do not use behavioral profiling, targeted advertising, or cross-site tracking.

We keep your account information and notes for as long as your account is active.
When you delete your account, we immediately cancel any active paid subscription with Stripe, delete your notes and query history, and delete your authentication account, which removes your remaining associated data. If you have connected any external apps, those connections remain linked on the integration provider's side until you revoke them from that app's settings; deleting your Pano account does not automatically disconnect them. Deleted data may persist in our infrastructure provider's backups for a limited period before being permanently erased.
We may retain limited information longer than this if required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
You have rights over your personal information. These include:
Users in California have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. We do not sell personal information, so opt-out rights for sale do not apply.

We protect your data using industry-standard measures:
Law enforcement requests. We will comply with valid legal process including court orders, subpoenas, and other legally binding requests. Where permitted by law, we will notify affected users before disclosing their data in response to legal requests. We will not voluntarily provide user data to law enforcement without a valid legal requirement to do so.
No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a security incident that affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities within the timeframes required by law.
Pano is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Pano is operated from the United States. If you use Pano from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using Pano, you consent to this transfer.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users by email and give at least 14 days' notice before the changes take effect.
