Terms of Service

Welcome to Pano. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Pano notes application at trypano.app (the "Service"), operated by Abdullah Khalid ("we," "us," or "Pano").

By using Pano, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. What Pano is

Pano is an AI-powered notes application. You save text-based notes to your account, and you can search and ask questions about your notes in plain language. Pano uses third-party AI services (described in our Privacy Policy) to process your note content for these features.

2. Your account

You need an account to use Pano. You can sign in using your Google account or with a magic link sent to your email address — no password required either way.

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your Google account secure
• All activity that occurs under your Pano account
• The accuracy of any information you provide to us

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pano. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Service.

3. Your content

You retain full ownership of the notes you save in Pano. We don't claim any ownership over your content.

By using Pano, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store your notes on our servers
• Process your notes through our AI features (semantic search, AI answers) for the purpose of providing the Service to you
• Display your notes back to you in the Pano application

This license exists only so we can provide the Service. We do not use your notes to train AI models, sell your content, share it with advertisers, or display it to other users.

You are responsible for the content you save in Pano. You agree not to use Pano to store:

• Content that is illegal under applicable law
• Content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
• Content that is intended to harass, threaten, or harm others
• Malware, viruses, or other code intended to damage systems
• Content that violates the privacy rights of others

We don't actively monitor your notes — they're private to you. But if we receive a report or become aware of content that violates these Terms, we reserve the right to remove it and suspend or terminate your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Pano, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
• Use the Service to send spam, conduct phishing, or distribute malware
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Interfere with the operation of the Service, including overwhelming our infrastructure with automated requests
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission

Prohibited uses. You may not use Pano to plan, facilitate, document, or communicate about activity that violates applicable law, threatens harm to yourself or others, or violates the rights of any person. You may not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or circumvent any security or access control measures in the app. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that come to our attention for violations of these terms, without prior notice where immediate action is necessary.

We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these rules.

5. AI features and limitations

Pano uses third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI) to power its search and question-answering features.

You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date
• You should not rely on Pano's AI answers for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions
• AI processing is core to how Pano works — there is no opt-out that preserves full functionality
• Voice transcription is powered by AI and may not be perfectly accurate, particularly for proper nouns, technical terms, or accented speech. Always review transcribed text before saving important notes.

We do our best to ensure the AI features work reliably, but we make no warranty that responses will always be accurate or complete.

6. Service availability

We work to keep Pano available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or events outside our control.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We'll provide reasonable notice for material changes that affect your use of the Service.

7. Pricing

Pano offers paid subscription plans, which may include a free trial. Current pricing and plan details are shown in the app before you subscribe. If we change our pricing or plans, we'll give you advance notice and you'll have the choice to continue on an available plan, upgrade, or stop using the Service.

8. Termination

You can stop using Pano and delete your account at any time. You can delete your account yourself from the app's Settings (danger zone), which permanently removes your account and your notes. If you'd prefer, you can also email us at hi@trypano.app.

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• You use the Service in a way that creates legal risk for us or other users
• You attempt to abuse, harm, or disrupt the Service

If we terminate your account for violation of these Terms, your notes may be deleted along with your account.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Pano is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or meet your specific requirements.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of data, profits, revenue, business opportunities, or goodwill
• Damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service
• Damages arising from third-party content, services, or infrastructure (including AI providers)

Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) $50 USD.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email and give at least 14 days' notice before the changes take effect.

Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't accept them, stop using the Service.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Virginia.
